Bond markets are driven by investors' expectations of inflation and interests rates. Throughout much of the last two decades we have witnessed a stable environment of low interest rates, low inflation and steady growth, which encouraged investors to take on historically large amounts of debt and drove yields down to very low levels. In the aftermath of the global credit crisis, this 'stable' environment has changed radically. We believe at Newton that such change brings with it opportunity.
